Zihang (Jim) Zhong is a professional designer specializing in the intersection of advanced transportations. A graduate of the ArtCenter College of Design with a degree in Transportation Design, he focuses on the future of flight and aerospace. His academic work is anchored by his thesis project, the Lunar Economic Village Initiative (LEVI), a proposal for a permanent human and industrial presence on the Moon.

Jim’s professional background includes specialized design internships at Boom Supersonic and Aptera. His technical contributions to the industry include a published research paper with the American Institute of Aeronautics & Astronautics (AIAA) and a U.S. design patent for a hybrid electric Short Take-Off and Landing (STOL) aircraft.

He possesses a diverse technical skill set that uses his 3D skill to bridges design and engineering. Jim is proficient in 3D modeling and rendering using Alias and Blender, and he leverages a sophisticated workflow that integrates 3D data and designer concepts to visualize the final product. Currently based in Pasadena, California, he continues to explore innovative solutions for the next generation of transportation systems.
